Prima Pugs

Karen with Tugboat Annie at the Portland Rose City Show.

Because of Annie, my great experiences with the pugs I love have multiplied.
Together, Annie and I tackled learning how to compete in conformation and rally events. We were well traveled together, going to our first Pug National in Olympia Washington in 2004.  Next year, Annie flew with me to the Nationals in San Antonio, Texas.  Other trips included the beach community of Bandon, Oregon where she earned her first conformation points.  Our travels continued to Wisconsin, California, and Pennsyvania where Liz Fabrici from Australia showed her in Best of Breed. Liz owns Annie's full brother, LNL's Third Time's a Charm.  I won't forget how Annie and I were drawn to each other in June 2004 when Lynne and Larry Dixon entrusted her to my care. Annie was a jewel as a 10 week old puppy on her ride back to Portland.   She had a special aura and wisdom about her - and was a joy to be with.  We have many bittersweet memories. I am very saddened to have lost her. Thank you, Annie, for the countless special moments in my life that I will never forget.

Fanny Lu was our first pug, chosen after touring a dog shows and meeting many pugs in 1991. I have been smitten with pugs ever since and can't imagine life without them.  We found Fanny through an ad in the paper and drove to Gresham, Oregon to choose our "pick of the litter".  Originally thinking we would be a single pug household, we weren't expecting to add another. But pugs do love company.  We added Bacchus, sired by Ch Charlamar's Indian Scout, to our household the next year.

Coincidentally, Indian Scout is also the great grand sire of my two LNL pugs born years later:      Tugboat Annie and Dolly.

It's a small pug world after all!
