Our passion for pugs began in 1991 with our first pug, Fanny Lu. A year later, Bacchus, was added to our home. Like potato chips, it's hard to have just one pug. After Fanny and Bacchus departed from this world in 2003, we were lucky enough to find LNL's Tugboat Annie from Lynne and Larry Dixon in LaGrande, Oregon. Annie was sold as a pet, but ended up being my first show dog. Growing up showing horses, the transition to pugs seemed natural. We learned together. Annie not only earned her championship title in 2006, but became a performance dog and earned her Rally Novice title in 2007. This cemented my passion for showing pugs and sharing the bond to make them the best they can be.
At Prima Pugs, we selectively breed to prioritize good health, sound temperament and conformance to breed standard. Our first priority is providing a great home where pugs are loved and active in their lives. Secondly, we provide the opportunity to show, perform and achieve as appropriate to each pug. All pugs are raised in and live in our home, as part of the family.
As a beginner, I was blessed to have pugs from a great line, and the opportunity to travel around the country to the Pug Nationals, Eukanuba and Westminster shows. We are having so much fun!
